"High School Golf Scoreboard will dramatically increase the national exposure of High School golf which will lead to a significant increase in overall college scholarships each year. Hands down, an investment every parent and player should make. Don’t miss this opportunity."

- Coach Lynn Monzingo
20 yr. High School Golf Coach Former Collegiate Player & College Coach: Eastern New Mexico & Univ. of Oklahoma

Fellow Coaches,

In the past two years the TxAGC leadership and I have been working closely with Junior Golf Experts, College Coaches, Fellow High School Coaches, and Rankings Agencies for the PRIMARY GOAL of moving our sport to the level of football in Texas. Football in Texas is nationally recognized as the best in the nation because their sport has been given statewide & national exposure. This is why so many high school athletes have earned scholarships at all NCAA levels. College Coaches can find the football talent because of the exposure thru various websites, rankings, media & newspaper coverage. This has not been the case for Texas High School Golf.

Our goal is to give the same exposure to Texas High School Golf. Over the past thirty plus years, High School Golf has never experienced any exposure other than word of mouth on a local basis. Coaches, like it or not, our sport has been trapped in the basement. College coaches across the nation have not been able to see our tournament results. Additionally, our district, regional and state championships have not been given the exposure they deserve. Therefore, as your President, I set out with the leadership of the High School Golf Scoreboard and TxAGC officers to accomplish the following objectives and create solutions that are realistic and will work.

Objectives

  • Provide statewide & national exposure to college coaches at every level.
  • Provide statewide & national exposure to the media & newspapers.
  • Create a rankings system that is fair & equitable for all schools & players (1A to 5A).
  • Give coaches a simple and trustworthy rankings system to post and rank tournament results.
  • Find a person’s to share our vision and invest in building a website to meet our vision/goals.

Solutions

  • HS Golf Scoreboard has secured the database of EVERY college golf coach’s’ email at every level to direct them to Texas High School Golf results & rankings.
  • HS Golf Scoreboard will be emailing rankings to statewide newspapers, media and writers to direct them to the leaderboards/rankings on the website.
  • HS Golf Scoreboard in counsel with TxAGC contracted the same company, Golfstat that has been ranking NCAA golf since 1984. Golfstat’s credibility is the "BEST IN THE WORLD" when it comes to a fair, accurate and simple ranking system (This is the NCAA Standard).
  • HS Golf Scoreboard with Golfstat has provided a simple, quick avenue to input results that will become the standard for Texas High School Golf. They have provided the following assistance to any coach or parent to submit results: PDF download, Video Tutorial, Email support, Conference Calls. Our goal is to standardize this system across the UIL so every school & player is on the same system "that shows no favorites."
  • I convinced the HS Golf Scoreboard ownership team buy into this vision and most importantly FUND this venture without any Tx AGC funds as well as return a portion of the membership revenue back to our association.

Fellow Coaches, the scoreboard ownership has invested thousands of dollars and hours into development of this website when NOBODY in the history of our sport has done anything to support High School Golf. It is now our responsibility to make this project successful and the envy of the nation. I can assure you, we have surveyed hundreds of college coaches who have desired to see this happen for many years.

In our interviews, not ONE COLLEGE COACH, PARENT OR PLAYER did not support this venture.

Therefore, I am asking each of you to show initiative and professionalism to learn how to submit your rosters, schedules and most importantly tournament results. EVERY UIL team & player deserves the exposure regardless where you place in the rankings. Remember, the scoreboard will post ANY tournament submitted on the leaderboards and will RANK ALL VARSITY tournaments. I also realize there will be "growing pains". We are making history and must stay the course.

Remember, the rankings are only as good as the data submitted, if submitted correctly. The video tutorial is an excellent aid to help you with any questions/problems.

In closing, this website cannot operate without the purchase of memberships from players and parents. It is your responsibility to inform & educate each player/parent on the value of purchasing a membership. The scoreboard has created new membership pricing levels with unbelievable benefits for parent/player memberships . Every player whether Varsity, Jr. Varsity or developmental should have a membership. Additionally, our TxAGC partnership with HS Golf Scoreboard , Avid Golfer, Golfweek & Golf Digest Magazines will present some great new benefits that will be donated to TxAGC. TxAGC will then coordinate the distribution of these to TxAGC schools to enhance the golf programs and GIVE BACK to our sport.

100% participation is the minimum standard I am asking for. HS Golf Scoreboard donates funds back to TxAGC which allow our state tournaments to have Nationwide Live Scoring for the first time in history.

There is NO EXCUSE for any Coach not to participate. Together we can change our sport and open up millions of dollars in new scholarships for our players due to the exposure they will now receive. Please forward this letter/email to any coach that is not a TxAGC member. Once again ladies & gentleman, we will create our own success or failure and failure is NOT an option.
