Thank you for your support of HighSchoolGolfScoreboard.com. We finished a busy week in Austin live scoring the 2A-5A state tournaments. We received much positive feedback from many across the state, Superintendents, Athletic Directors, Coaches, Parents, Players, Media and the UIL.

Frisco Wakeland's Taylor Newlin wins 4A golf individual crown

AUSTIN -- Three years later, Taylor Newlin is on top of the Texas golf game again.
As a freshman, she won the 3A state title. Now, as a senior, she is another state champ, finishing the tournament at an even-par 144 for the title.

Highland Park boys win 4A golf championship

AUSTIN -- It's official. Highland Park won the boys 4A golf championship earlier this afternoon, the team's ninth in the last 11 years.
Charlie Ewing was the highest individual medalist for the Scots, finishing in third.

Allen girls lead early at 5A state golf championships

AUSTIN -- Golfers are beginning to get through the first nine holes here at Jimmy Clay Golf Course, and the Allen girls are leading the team standings so far.
Lauren Jackson is in second place among girls individuals. Another area golfer, Jesuit's Jordan Spieth, is in second place on the boys side.

Vanguard golfers hang tough to claim 6th straight state title

After a one-year absence the Southlake Carroll Dragons will return to the State tournament this year after an impressive showing at the Region I tournament played at the Jerry S Rawls Texas Tech course in Lubbock, Texas.

It was a successful title defense for the San Antonio Churchill Chargers.
Three of the Chargers’ “Red” team shot below 80 Saturday and helped Churchill defend its champions bracket title at the Del Rio High School Brown Automotive Boys Golf Invitational Tournament.
Saturday’s final round of the championship bracket was played on the San Felipe Country Club course. While the players faced a slight wind and cool temperatures all day, the fast greens caused most of the golfers to shoot a higher score on the tournament’s second day.
Only the team’s top four individual scores from each day were used to determine the team’s total score for that day.
Churchill finished Saturday’s final round with a team score of 317 and won the championship with a two-day total of 622.
